We have cared for 56 babies since January. The very best part is that 22 of the little ones have been adopted and six others have been reunited with their biological families. We are honoured that many parents choose to stay in touch with us or come back to visit, keeping PAAH as a living part of their children’s lives.
It is always striking how quickly the babies begin to blossom once they are in family care and receiving constant individual attention and affection. But it would have been much harder if they had not received early warmth from our staff and volunteers which enables them to form trusting, emotional bonds. Together with healthy care, as well as the extra stimulation and activities provided by volunteers, this lays a solid foundation for future growth and development.
In a nutshell, that is what we aim to do.
Although the flow of adoptions is very positive, our nursery is full, with 30 babies whose ages range from 1 month to 18 months. We continue to strive towards the best possible start in life for the little ones until they leave with their adoptive families.
